Erdenee Zuu monastery

Itinerary Karakorum

1.Day:
After breakfast drive out the city; behind there is
the big open theatre from the wide open
panorama / scenic of the Mongolian grassland. The
"Rolling Mountains" in the background full filling the
scenery. It's a dream. After picnic lunch drive arrive
the camp in "Elsen Tasarhai".  We'll walk around in
this fantastic area with dunes and grassland,
interrupt by small forest. Later drive further on to
Karakorum, arrival in the late afternoon.
Overnight in a ger (Mongolian Yurta / Jurt).

2.Day:
After breakfast visit the old capital city, from one
of the big Mongolian heroes, Dschingis Khans (12th
century). Even from a fare distance you could see the
big walls, covering a area of 160 000 square meter,
with their 108 stupa's of the Erdenee Zuu monastery.
The monastery was build up in 1586. The temple and
stupa inside had been renovated and some of them are
still under renovation. A few of them had not been
destroyed during the communist area. The whole
monastery is very impressive. In the past there are
living up to ten thousand monks. After sightseeing
we're driving further on to our Camp.
Overnight in the Ger.

3.Day:
After the breakfast we're driving back through the
very impressive and fantastic scenery to Ulaanbaatar.
On the way there are many possibilities for taking
photos from herders and wildlife. Lunch on the way.
Arrive in the afternoon.
